In our last couple +1s, we’ve chatted about a couple of my favorite ideas from the Mastery series lecture on The Fundies: How to Energize to Optimize and Actualize Virtue-Wise, Peak Performance-Wise, and Spirituality-Wise.
Today we’re going to chat about one more idea from that Big Picture discussion on the fundamentals and why they’re so important.
This one’s inspired by the great mythologist and hero-scholar Joseph Campbell.
He once posed the koan-question: “What am I? Am I the bulb that carries the light, or am I the light of which the bulb is a vehicle?”
What are you?
Are you the bulb that carries the light? Or are you the light of which the bulb is a vehicle?
I say, “YES!!” 🤓
Saving the longer philosophical-spiritual chat for another time, let’s assume that, at the very least, we’re the humble bulb through which the light shines.
If that’s the case (and, from my vantage point, it unequivocally IS!), then one of our main jobs in life (if not THE Job with a capital “J!”) is to get our bulbs all Optimized so we can handle as much of that Divine Light as we possibly can.
Would you rather be a 20-watt bulb that blows up the moment more light tries to get through or a stable 60- or 100-watt bulb that lights up the room?!
Or, for the spiritually ambitious among us…
Why not see if we can become great souls that shine like a 1,000-watt lighthouse bulb, lighting up our part of the world during these stormy times?!
What’s that have to do with the Fundamentals?
Well, E V E R Y T H I N G.
Want to build the wattage AND make sure we’re actually plugged into the wall-socket of awesome?
Master your fundies.
That’s Today’s +1.
What’s one little way you can Optimize your bulb a little today?
+1Watt. +1Watt. +1Watt.
