#698 Fear Doors - Part III

Need to Walk Through One Today?

In our last couple +1s, we’ve been having a sobering and (hopefully) empowering time talking about and then walking through some Fear Doors.

Today I want to share another personal story about a time I walked through a Fear Door.

Get this.

It was just the other day.

And it’s been kinda surreal to experience (in real time) the Fear and the Life-Changing Joy of coming up to and walking through this particular Fear Door.

Super short story: You know that Heroic Coach program I keep on talking about?

I almost didn’t launch it.

Of course, I rationalized my almost-not-launching-it decisions to myself in a very compelling way—telling myself why it wasn’t time given other priorities, yada yada yada, but…

I almost didn’t launch it because I was afraid.

Of what? Oh, I don’t know. It would suck? No one would sign up? It would suck AND no one sign up? lol

In any case, this time around (with all those gray whiskers and that much less hair), I could SEE the Fear Door right in front of me.

And I decided to open it and walk through it.

Voilà. Life changed.

Today’s +1.

Back to you.

One more time.

Got any Fear Doors in your life?

Let’s muster all the courage we’ve got and get really good at noticing when we’re rationalizing our fear then get to work doing the hard work of living heroically.

One Fear Door at a time. The more the merrier.

P.S. Cue the master fear-conqueror Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Always, always, always, always, always do what you are afraid to do.

And: “Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain.

And: “Fear is an instructor of great sagacity and the herald of revolutions. One thing he teaches, that there is rottenness where he appears.
