#1275 Am I Working or Playing Right Now?

The Master in the Art of Living

One fine Saturday morning, I got up and did my thing.

Of course, my day started the night before with a Masterpiece PM Bookend featuring a Shutdown Complete, Digital Sunset, Deep Love transition. Then early bed time. Then early rise. Meditation. Quick movement. Deep Work. Etc.

Now…

I came out of that Deep Work session to grab the little Coach blurbs I shared in the last +1. (I had iMessaged them to Alexandra and wanted to copy/paste.)

As I found them, I saw an amazing iMessage from Jana, our VP of Impact and SPICEY Culture. One of our Coaches asked if she could share our Soul Force 1-on-1 Coaching session with HER community. Of course, we enthusiastically said, “YES!!”

(You can watch THAT powerful interaction here and learn more about Jessica’s work with women conquering eating disorders here.)

Long story a little shorter, I wound up replying to the message Jana had sent the night before. Then I shared a little Strategic thinking I’d done that morning (via a link to a Paper doc we use for such purposes) when, lo and behold, Jana replies to my message and then Michael (our Head Coach and President) ALSO hops in the thread and blows it up with some awesome.

Now, it’s Saturday morning.

So, I’m like…

“Wow. So good.”

“I’m so blessed to do what I love to do with people who love to do what they do. And… We all get to do it together WHILE going ALL IN on not just our Work but our Energy and Love as well?!?”

“Pinch me.”

“God, thank you for blessing me with the gift of doing what I love to do in service to the world with awesome humans.”

Then I thought of a Lawrence Pearsall Jacks’s wisdom gem from our Notes on Driven.

I shared this with Michael and Jana (and Patrick) via iMessages:

“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play, his labour and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself he always seems to be doing both. Enough for him that he does it well.”

Then Jana says:

Haha, came across this in family time last night (while watching pro pianists play Chopin 🤣) and I said to lukasz “this is the perfect rendition of our week!”

(Note, the week before we launched Heroic Coach – Class III, relaunched PNTV and the #1’s on our podcast and LEANED IN to some key Impact projects to take our biz to the next level.)

Then she shared THIS EPIC (WOW!) video called “When a professional musician sits down at a public piano“.

(👆 If you want to see PURE SOUL FORCE in action, check out that video.)

To which I said, “Wow.”

And, that’s Today’s +1.

The Masters in the art of living?

As Maslow would say, we dissolve the apparent dichotomies between our work and our play.

Let’s go ALL IN and give the world all we’ve got.

Energy + Work + Love wise.

TODAY.

btw1: For me, that means it’s time for some Deep Love fam time. (After filming my #1 for the day!)

btw2: Jana then headed off to a day of 1:1 time with her daughter.

btw3: Michael then jumped on his bike with daughter Dylan in tow and they and his wife Kristen went on a 30-mile family bike ride.

btw4: Let’s! Do!! This!!!
