Mark Divine, retired Navy SEAL, author of Unbeatable Mind, and a dear friend of ours—and a big Heroic investor—teaches us that we’re all capable of 20x more than we think we are.

That’s not hyperbole—it’s a challenge. Mark reminds us that most people set goals based on what feels “safe” or “reasonable.” But Heroic Elite isn’t about playing small. It’s about setting Heroically high, hard targets that challenge you to step into your full potential.

And here’s the key: To unlock your 20x potential, you need more than inspiration. You need a clear wish, a reality check, and the Soul Force to follow through.

So… your #1 Heroically SMART Goal for these 101 days should feel bold and ambitious. Ask yourself:

  • What’s the ONE thing that would most transform my life?
  • What would my 20x self set as a goal?

Set a goal that excites you and scares you just enough to know it’s worth pursuing.

Then you’ve got to rub it up against reality and use the WOOP process.

Once you’ve defined your Heroic wish, run it through Gabriele Oettingen’s WOOP framework:

1. Wish: What’s your #1 Heroically SMART Goal? Make it specific and meaningful.

2. Outcome: Visualize the life-changing result of achieving it. How will it feel?

3. Obstacle: Be honest about the challenges. What’s standing in your way? Whenever I do this, which is all the time, I always start with two things: Fear and Laziness. Those are always going to be our two biggest obstacles. How about for you?

4. Plan: Create an “If-Then” strategy to overcome those obstacles.

Here’s the truth: WOOP isn’t about shrinking your goal. It’s about rubbing it up against reality and creating a plan to succeed.

If you genuinely don’t think you can hit your goal, don’t kid yourself. Adjust it until you can. Heroically SMART Goals are meant to be high, hard, and achievable. Commit to something that inspires you and that you believe you can conquer with focus and effort.

The journey won’t be easy, but that’s the point. When you commit to your Heroic goal, you’re not just chasing success—you’re becoming the person capable of achieving it.

Set the Goal do the Work become your best self.
