You’ve GOT to watch this amazing ~90-second clip of Sean Casey (a former MLB All Star known as “The Mayor” who Sports Illustrated described as the friendliest guy in baseball) chatting about Heroic on his show The Mayor’s Office with Sean Casey.
We LOVE how Sean (who is also an investor in Heroic) breaks down how Heroic helps him define the rules of the game he wants to play, day after day, as well as his target-hitting archer gesture (which we will DEFINITELY be implementing into some of our celebrations!).

Phil Stutz at Heroic 2022
Phil Stutz — author of The Tools and Coming Alive, therapist and coach to world-leading figures in Hollywood and beyond, and the inspiration behind so many Optimize +1s and practical tools in the Heroic app — will be joining us at Heroic 2022 for a unique experience that none of us will soon forget!
As we shared in an email earlier this week (which featured an INCREDIBLE community story from Joseph Vitale you can read here), Phil is also Brian’s (and my) coach, as well as the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary directed by Jonah Hill and produced by Joaquin Phoenix.
Here’s the original announcement and post about that documentary that Jonah shared on his instagram account in late 2020. (Note: Jonah’s Instagram account has since been deleted, but you can read more about the documentary via Slashfilm and Collider.)
jonahhill We started production yesterday on my second directorial feature for @netflix . It is a documentary on my brilliant Therapist, Dr. Phil Stutz, and therapy in general. The idea is to make a film that frames therapy and Phil’s tools for dealing with life in a way that isn’t corny or cheesy. Everything I saw growing up about therapy I rolled my eyes at. Thank you @netflix , our crew, Joaquin Phoenix and the rest of our producers, and most of all Phil for providing an opportunity to make a dope film that democratizes therapy for private use on Netflix. If you can’t afford therapy or there is stigma in your family and life, the idea is that you can privately use these tools on based on the feelings you are having (depression, anxiety, regret etc), and use them in the privacy of your own home on Netflix. Sending you all lots of love. We all need it.
Again, we’re SUPER excited about the practical wisdom Phil will be sharing with all of us at Heroic 2022.
