#1474 Who Has Supported YOU?

The Great Supporters Beside the Great Ones

In our last +1, we talked about how Team Johnson is using some little family health challenges as fuel for going to the next level.

We Target swiped “Appreciate someone” as we beamed some love to someone who has served our Loved ones in times of need.

I also mentioned the fact that we got a home neurofeedback unit. And, I mentioned the fact that, as part of the daily neurofeedback training, I needed to watch something. I decided to watch a bunch of inspiring sports documentaries.

The first documentary I watched was called Bill Russell: Legend. It was awesome.

In our Notes on Overachievement, we talked about him and the fact that he is the ONLY player EVER to win an NCAA Championship, Olympic gold medal AND an NBA Championship in the SAME year.

We also talked about the fact that the great Bill Russell THREW UP before basically EVERY game he played. 😲

But…

It was fun to hear legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach share a story about how, before one game, Russell DIDN’T throw up. That made Red so nervous that he sent his whole team back to the locker room and demanded Russell throw up. 😂

THEN…

Once he’d, uh, done his job, the team took the court. And then they dominated. 🤓

One of the other things I really enjoyed about that documentary was the fact that Russell—who would become one of the ALL-TIME (goosebumps) GREATS—almost QUIT in his first season.

He didn’t think he had what it took to play at the highest levels.

You know who talked him out of quitting?

His wife.

Nearly the same EXACT thing happened with Nolan Ryan.

He started his career with the Mets. He was REALLY inconsistent. He didn’t think he had what it took to make it in the Big Leagues.

You know who talked him out of quitting?

His wife.

And…

THAT is Today’s +1.

Who has supported YOU in your Heroic quest?

Think of them RIGHT NOW.

Appreciate them.

Bonus points if you send them a text.

I am going to go ahead and Target swipe “Appreciate someone” as I think of MY wife and the fact that she has ALWAYS been my BIGGEST supporter. Bless you, Babes. 🎯

And, I’m going to Target swipe, “Send Wifey a Love Note” as I send her a quick text. 🎯

Me: “Working on a +1. Celebrating you and your 15+ years of Heroic support. Love you. 🙏”

Heroic quests are MUCH much more fun with friends.

Let’s make sure we take the time to celebrate those who have supported us AND let’s be the ones supporting our Loved ones on THEIR Heroic quests.

Day 1. All In.

With Humility, Gratitude and Love.

LET’S GO, HERO!
