1. Creating Your Best Life by Caroline Adams Miller

This week’s new Philosopher’s Note is on Creating Your Best Life by Caroline Adams Miller.

Here’s the intro quote to the Note:

“Findings from thirty years of research on life satisfaction show that happiness requires having clear-cut goals in life that give us a sense of purpose and direction. When we make progress toward satisfying our most cherished needs, goals, and wishes in the sixteen areas of life that contribute to contentment, we create well-being. Our research shows that when we make progress toward attaining goals in one area of our life, we raise our overall life satisfaction in other areas because of this potent ‘spillover’ effect. …

If you follow our step-by-step method, you will learn what areas of your life matter most to you, what types of goals will bring you the greatest satisfaction, how to pursue them to completion, and how to flexibly disengage from goal pursuit that no longer suits your day-to-day reality. You will also learn happiness-boosting strategies that will increase your persistence and zest, as well as how to cope with the inevitable disappointments and setbacks that can threaten to undermine all goal support. In short, we give you a complete, step-by-step guide to understanding how to set and achieve goals, and we show you how and why this pursuit has the impact of making you happier, too.”

4. Heroic Updates: Big Goals, Emotional Moments, and Educational Initiatives

It’s been another busy week of updates with our movement.

Brian highlighted the upcoming launch of Big Goals, by Caroline Adams Miller, (with a foreword written by Brian!). The book is already getting recognized as a go-to Goals book, with science-backed strategies for setting and achieving life-changing objectives.

We also received some incredible and moving feedback on Brian’s (and Alexandra’s) heartfelt celebration of me from our Austin Workshop. (Sacred honor, sir! 🥲)

Check out Brian's update here to learn more about how we're working together to help forge excellence and activate our Heroic potential, driving impactful transformations in ourselves and our communities.

Brian emphasized the transformative power of Heroic Education in shaping future leaders, with a celebration of the work Tim is doing to integrate Heroic as a teacher and school administrator. Read the update on Wefunder to learn more.

5. Brian + The Gratitude Network

On Wednesday, June 26th, Brian will be serving as the keynote speaker for the global Gratitude Network Summit. He’ll be connecting with Gratitude Network founder, Randy Haykin, and sharing insights on Heroic leadership with ties to how to make a real difference in the world.

The free Summit is hosted by Gratitude Network, a nonprofit organization that provides 1:1 leadership coaching and a Scaling Up business curriculum to help nonprofits scale and sustain their social impact, transforming the lives of children and youth around the world.

+1. Wisdom from the week:

"When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of harmony and work toward a definite objective or purpose, they place themselves in a position, through the alliance, to absorb the power directly from the great storehouse of Infinite Intelligence.”
